The council, through its Local Government Board, has approved the works project to reinforce an embankment located between numbers 79 and 91 of the C250z, an area between the Funeral Home and the former El Capritxo restaurant. These two plots of rustic land are municipal property.
The main objective is to minimize the risk of landslides, which is particularly aggravated during rainy days. According to various reports from the Area of Ecological Transition and Urban Transformation, the detachment of stones and rocks often ends up invading the roadway.
The area affected by this action is 3,377 square meters. It is worth remembering that the City Council already carried out preliminary work at this same point last November, removing accumulated soil from the rear of the wall at a cost of 12,728.12 euros.
Earlier this year, the City Council carried out emergency work on a nearby section, on Carrer del Carme, next to the New Cemetery, to stabilize an embankment affected by wind and rain episodes. Local residents had expressed concern about falling rocks, which led to the installation of preventive fencing.
In the case of the embankment to be worked on now, there is no pedestrian traffic, only vehicles circulating at a maximum speed of seventy kilometers per hour. Once the technical documentation is approved, the next step will be to tender the works.
