The National Institute of Statistics (INE) has released data showing significant growth in the incorporation of commercial companies in Girona. Of these, about fifty were established with capital exceeding 50,000 euros, with some far surpassing one million euros, bringing the total declared capital to nearly 25 million euros.
The five incorporations with the largest capital volume are Hotel Bell.Aire 1967 SL (3.96 million euros), Inversiones Alipa HG SL (3.686 million), KSK 1956 SL (3.322 million), Punt de Serveis Casa Reus SRL (1.776 million), and Grup Tauler MKM Holding SL (1.584 million).
By sector, holding, investment, or share management companies represent nearly a third of the companies with the highest capital. Real estate development and construction account for around 25%. Transport and logistics represent 14%, while hotels, restaurants, and tourism make up 9%. The agri-food and retail sectors each represent 5%.
Despite the increase in the number of companies, the capital contributed has decreased. During the first half of 2026, 48.8 million euros were disbursed, compared to 70.7 million in the same period of 2025, a drop of 31%. The average amount per new company has also fallen, from approximately 68,200 euros in 2025 to about 40,200 euros this year (a 41% decrease).
The predominant legal form remains the limited company. Of the 1,213 companies created, 1,207 (nearly 99.5%) are limited companies, accounting for almost all the increase compared to the 1,032 created in the first half of 2025.
