Girona FC started 2026 with a streak of three consecutive victories, including two away wins, allowing them to escape the relegation zone and consolidate their position in the middle of the league table.

Victories against Mallorca (2-1), Osasuna (0-1), and Espanyol (0-2) have turned the “dramas of 2025” into joy for the Girona club. After spending sixteen matchdays in the relegation zone, the club has achieved a points cushion that seemed unattainable just a few weeks ago.
The team led by Míchel has shown great tenacity, minimizing errors and capitalizing on its strengths. This positive run includes the first victory by more than one goal since the 3-0 win against Valladolid in December 2024.
This milestone of three consecutive league wins is significant, as one must go back to November 2024 to find a similar streak. At that time, the red-and-whites defeated Leganés, Getafe, and Espanyol.
Even more remarkable is the away record. Girona has achieved three consecutive away victories (including Real Sociedad), a feat only accomplished twice before in the top flight: during the relegation season 2018/19 and the record-breaking season 2023/24.
