This ambitious plan by the Generalitat recovers the spirit of the project launched in 2010. The main goal is to mobilize both public and private capital to achieve comprehensive improvements in housing, social cohesion, and climate change sustainability. Overall, the measure will benefit 273,000 residents across twenty Catalan municipalities.
In Girona, the focus will be on the Pont Major neighborhood. The project includes building renovations, social housing, and a network of green spaces around Portlligat street. The flagship project is the Casa de les Lletres, a cultural and educational center designed to promote literacy among local youth.
In Figueres, interventions will target the western sector, featuring a new intermodal station and better connections to the city center. In Olot, architect Itzíar González will lead the regeneration of the old town, focusing on improving living conditions in eight residential blocks and boosting local commerce.
