The Girona Film Critics Collective will continue to lead the programming and management of Cinema Truffaut, following a request from the Girona City Council while the future of the service is decided.

The decision to keep the non-profit association in charge of the cultural venue comes pending the resolution of the administrative process opened for the future management of the cinema. The Girona council has expressed its gratitude to the collective for accepting this continuity, emphasizing the essential nature of the municipal service they provide.

"In an exercise of responsibility and commitment to continue guaranteeing an essential public cultural service for Girona for the benefit of its citizens."

The Critics Collective, which has managed the Truffaut for 25 years, has accepted the municipal request. In its own statement, the association highlighted its commitment to a cultural model that prioritizes public good over commercialization, thanking the numerous expressions of support received.
The potential loss of the cinema's management by the collective, due to a lower economic proposal presented by a Cambrils company in the public tender, has generated considerable discomfort among spectators and within Girona's cultural sphere.
