The Girona City Council is set to approve a suspension of urban planning procedures and licenses in the Pont de la Barca area during this Monday's plenary session.

This move officially cancels the plans for a concert hall originally proposed for the site in 2023. Local authorities intend to study the best layout for this district, located between the Fontajau and Sant Ponç neighborhoods, to ensure a proper debate on its future uses.
Following the setbacks at the original location, the developers have shifted their focus to a new site at Emili Grahit street. The proposed venue, named Alter, would accommodate fewer than 500 people, a slight reduction from the 600-person capacity initially planned for the previous warehouse.
The project faces significant backlash from local residents in the Eixample district. Neighbors have expressed concerns regarding nighttime noise, increased traffic, and the potential conflict with a new healthcare center (CAP) planned nearby.
