Girona honors Olympic athlete Nora Cornell after Milan-Cortina Games

The City Council celebrates the local snowboarder's 19th place finish in the Olympic slopestyle event.

The Mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas, led an official ceremony this February 24 to honor local athlete Nora Cornell for her achievements at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.

The reception took place at the City Hall, celebrating Cornell's 19th place in the snowboard slopestyle competition. The athlete earned a total of 53.09 points, finishing just 15 points away from qualifying for the Olympic final.

In addition to her slopestyle performance, Cornell also competed in the Big Air event, securing 26th place. The ceremony was attended by Sports Councilor Àdam Bertran and regional sports representatives, highlighting the city's pride in its international sporting ambassadors.
