Technical issues force a service suspension until summer, leading neighboring towns to reduce operating hours.

The Girona City Council announced that starting Friday, March 13, local residents will be unable to use the Sarrià de Ter recycling facility due to technical difficulties.

The service is expected to resume in the summer. In the meantime, Girona residents are advised to use the Mas Xirgu facility or the city's network of mobile recycling units.
The temporary withdrawal of Girona from the joint agreement has forced Sarrià de Ter, Sant Julià de Ramis, Medinyà, and Cervià de Ter to reduce opening hours to maintain economic viability without increasing local taxes.

"Girona was the majority partner and we hope the situation is resolved soon to restore normal hours."

Guillem Surroca · Mayor of Cervià de Ter
The facility will now only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Friday hours are 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 19:00, while Saturday afternoon schedules will vary depending on the season.
