Girona's Barri Vell has been chosen as one of the key locations for the filming of the new version of Tangled, which will become part of the story's fictional kingdom. This decision has led to an open casting call to find the necessary extras for the musical production.
The selection of participants will take place at the Fira de Girona, located on the Passeig de la Devesa, from 10 AM to 7 PM. The call is aimed at a wide range of people, including men, women, and children between 4 and 80 years old. Additionally, professional and amateur dancers up to 70 years old are sought, with no restrictions on origin or appearance. Minors must be accompanied by a family member.
Interested individuals must present a valid identity document or NIE. The organization has warned that access may close earlier than scheduled if the maximum capacity is reached. This is a paid work opportunity.
Filming for the movie is scheduled to begin in June 2026 and is expected to last approximately eight months. Although Girona will be one of the prominent locations, the main production base will be established at the Ciudad de la Luz in Alicante. Other sites such as the Castillo de Santa Bárbara and the Cathedral of Burgos will also be part of the project.
This new adaptation of Tangled, inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale and the original 2010 film, will be directed by Michael Gracey. According to released information, the cast will include Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider.
