The Girona City Council has announced the creation of ten new ESO groups and three primary school groups in public centers for the 2026-2027 academic year.

This measure aims to accommodate 300 students from les Alzines and Bell-lloc schools, which are transitioning to fully private status. Enrollment for the new term is set to begin on March 4.
Education Councilor Queralt Vila explained that most public high schools, including Vicens Vives, will adjust their capacity. New primary groups will also be opened at Dalmau Carles, l'Agora, and Cassia Costal schools to manage the influx.

"It is a major challenge for teaching centers, and we demand resources from the Department of Education to properly address this complexity."
