The Councillor for Economic Promotion has indicated that intensive efforts are underway to achieve the cancellation of the cleaning strike. She emphasized that there are still several days until the floral exhibition begins and that the situation must be evaluated daily.
“"There are still many days left, and we have to monitor the situation day by day."
While not denying that a strike could have a negative impact on the city's perception, the councillor has assured that the celebration of Temps de Flors is guaranteed. This statement follows an agreement reached last week with municipal brigades, who had initially also planned stoppages.
The strike by Girona+Neta staff is separate from the conflict the City Council had with the municipal brigades. While the council could directly intervene in negotiations for salary improvements with the latter, its capacity to intervene with Girona+Neta is limited, as it is a private company.
