This new publication results from a partnership between the foundation, the Institut d'Assistència Sanitària (IAS), and the Catalan Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health. It compiles findings from a conference held on May 29, 2025, at the Martí i Julià Hospital Park in Salt.
The core focus is co-production, a system allowing individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families to actively participate in designing the support they receive. The model aims to transform users into active agents with real decision-making power rather than just being consulted.
Supported by Dincat, the material is designed for professional training and public awareness. The ultimate goal is to foster a paradigm shift that empowers patients by recognizing the value of their lived experience.
