The extraordinary session, held on Tuesday afternoon at the Girona City Council to analyze the current state of the city, was marked by confrontation between the governing parties (Guanyem, Junts, and ERC) and the opposition (PSC and Vox). The most prominent topics were waste management, the housing crisis, and the development of the new Health Campus.
“"The city is on the right track, but there is also room for improvement, and we are focused on resolving what is still not working well."
The Mayor, Lluc Salellas, avoided falling into "triumphalism" and assured that, although the city is progressing correctly, the governing team intends to improve the areas where deficiencies still exist. Spokespersons for the coalition parties dedicated their interventions to highlighting the achievements made during the two and a half years of the mandate.
“"The governing team must assume the magnitude of the errors committed and do everything possible to reverse the poor management."
The socialist spokesperson, Bea Esporrín, was particularly critical, pointing out that the Mayor's speech did not include any concrete projects to implement the "room for improvement" he had mentioned. It should be noted that the PP councilor, Jaume Veray, did not attend the plenary session.
