The Girona City Council is facing a renewed surge of illegal car buying advertisements on street lamps and public furniture, just weeks after a major police crackdown.

In early February, the Municipal Police identified and reported three individuals, seizing 128 posters following a citizen tip-off. Despite these actions, the advertisements have reappeared in several areas of the city, violating local public space regulations.

"The city is not a billboard."

Councilor Sílvia Aliu confirmed that new disciplinary proceedings are underway. Fines for these violations in Girona can reach 3,000 euros. Similar issues have been reported in Salt, where security cameras helped authorities fine a responsible company 500 euros for breaching coexistence ordinances.
