Civil Protection and the firm EXOLUM conducted a large-scale industrial accident drill in Girona last week to test emergency coordination following a simulated gas leak.

The exercise involved a simulated gas leak in an empty diesel tank, resulting in three casualties. Firefighters from the Girona station practiced rescue maneuvers and decontamination procedures within the facility.
The Mossos d'Esquadra police force and SEM medical services also participated, managing site security and victim triage. The drill successfully verified the facility's Self-Protection Plan (PAU) and regional emergency protocols.
