The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a violent incident that occurred in Figueres during the early hours of May 1st, around six in the morning. A man sustained serious injuries due to a stabbing.

Although the exact motive for the knife attack has not yet been confirmed by police authorities, some sources suggest it could be retaliation for the theft of a mobile phone.

The event required the intervention of both the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Guàrdia Urbana de Figueres. According to available information, several individuals who had allegedly been victims of mobile phone theft confronted the presumed thief and assaulted him with a bladed weapon.

The injured person, who was undocumented at the time of the incident, was transferred to the hospital by the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM), where he remains in serious condition. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with this case, and the investigation remains open to clarify all circumstances.
