The Girona club has confirmed the agreement with Izan González, a young talent joining the squad on a contract running until 2029. González arrives from Cornellà, a team in the 3rd Division FEF, where he has been on loan this current season.
Born in Blanes in 2004, the midfielder has shown consistent progress. After training in youth categories such as Ca l’Aguidó and Costa Brava youth, he signed for Cornellà. In the 2023/24 season, he was loaned to L'Escala, where he played 31 matches, and later competed with Granada in the Second Division A, participating in 18 games.
With Cornellà, González played 31 matches in the 2nd Division FEF. Before that, he played for Europa in the 1st Division FEF, where he was an undisputed starter in all 21 matches he played. His versatility and work ethic are his main strengths.
The player's objective will now be to help Girona achieve its goals in the First Division, thus completing an upward trajectory through the various categories of amateur and semi-professional football.
