The La Mirona events venue in Salt will continue its operations until June 2027 after the municipal council approved the management extension.

The future of the La Mirona venue in Salt is secured until June 2027. The municipal council has given the green light to extend the management of the facility by RGB Music SL with 16 votes in favor and four against from Vox. This decision follows the proposal's failure in the previous council meeting, with last-minute support from the CUP and PSC enabling a breakthrough.
The current extension was set to expire on June 25th, necessitating a halt in activities without a new agreement. This extension provides the City Council with an additional year to prepare for the future tender and the regulations that will define the venue's new operational model. The Councillor for Culture, Antoni Vidal (ERC), acknowledged communication shortcomings with opposition groups over the past year but expressed gratitude for the willingness of the CUP and PSC to reach an understanding.
The spokesperson for the CUP, Roger Bigas, explained that the shift in their vote stems from negotiations held with the municipal executive in recent weeks, addressing the need for the City Council to have greater influence over La Mirona's future model, recognizing it as a key municipal facility for Salt's cultural offerings. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the PSC, Joan Martín, despite criticizing the government's "lack of planning," justified the favorable vote by stating that "Salt cannot afford to have the venue close."
Vox's spokesperson, Sergi Fàbri, voted against the extension, regretting that the situation had not been resolved sooner. The mayor, Cristina Alarcón, thanked the CUP and PSC for their support, deeming it a "show of responsibility."
