The Literatura de Soca-rel festival is celebrating its third edition during May with a program of six activities to be held in various towns across Gironès and Empordà.

This cultural initiative, running from May 2 to 24, primarily aims to highlight the talent of regional writers and the beauty of the landscape surrounding the Ter river. Concurrently, the festival emphasizes the importance of active municipal participation in cultural revitalization.
This year's program offers a variety of events including literary itineraries, poetry recitals, conversations with authors, and book presentations. The objective is to establish a link between the territory and contemporary literary creation, also incorporating prominent figures of Catalan literature such as Josep Pla and Josep Palau i Fabre.
Activities will commence on Saturday, May 2, with the literary itinerary Celrà Socarrat, a proposal stemming from texts by young people from Celrà who explore their childhood and adolescent experiences from a critical perspective. This project has also resulted in the publication of a fanzine by the organization.
On Sunday, May 10, the itinerary La primavera encara és incerta will take place, inspired by the work of Josep Pla. The route will connect the towns of La Pera and Flaçà, following the thread of the book Notes del capvesprol, and will feature the participation of residents, cultural activists, and a local historian.
Other notable events include a new edition of the open mic La congostada on Thursday, May 14, which invites participants to recite their own texts or those of other authors. On Saturday, May 16, a talk in Celrà by the director of the Palau Foundation will review Palau i Fabre's stay in the municipality and his literary production linked to that period.
On Friday, May 22, a journalist will present the essay No vingueu al poble a reposar, a work that analyzes the transformation of towns into spaces for rest, with contributions from various voices from the territory. The festival will conclude on Sunday, May 24, in Bordils with a double poetic presentation, where two local poets will discuss their works with musical accompaniment.
The festival promotes accessible, community-focused culture, offering all activities free of charge. The organization receives support from the cultural entity Connexió Papyrus de Celrà, which has been fostering reading and literary activities in the area for over a decade.
