Spar Girona's qualification for next season's EuroLeague has been secured, although they might have to play the preliminary round for the third time. On the two previous occasions, the team successfully navigated this stage. This achievement comes as Casademont reached the league final, defeating Avenida 67-59 and overturning the 69-67 first-leg result in Salamanca.
The Girona squad claims one of the three spots allocated by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) for teams based on their second-place finish in the regular league season. The first spot was already assigned to Zaragoza for finishing as league leaders after 30 rounds. With Valencia as the cup champion, the Girona team directly secures its ticket to repeat in the EuroLeague, regardless of its final league result. To win the title, Spar Girona would need to defeat the orange team by two or more points at Fontajau, following the 67-66 first-leg score.
