The current weather conditions, marked by high temperatures, extremely dry vegetation, and persistent lack of rain, significantly increase the danger of forest fires. These conditions mean that the Girona region faces a very high risk level, just one step below the maximum.
Starting Friday, the arrival of the tramuntana wind is expected, a factor that could further aggravate the fire risk in the Girona counties, increasing the speed of fire spread.
Emergency teams are also continuing to closely monitor forest fires that are already under control. Among these is the fire in La Bisbal d’Empordà, which remains under constant surveillance to prevent any possible flare-ups.
In light of this situation, Civil Protection calls on the public to exercise extreme caution. It is requested to avoid any activity that could cause a fire, especially in forest and vegetation areas. It is also reminded that restrictions remain in place for municipalities with a higher risk level.
