Girona FC manager Míchel Sánchez confirmed this Friday that he will not engage in contract renewal talks until the team mathematically secures its place in La Liga for next season.

With his current deal set to expire in June, Míchel emphasized that the club's collective goal outweighs any individual future. He stated that reaching 42 points is the 'magic number' required to ensure stability and allow the Girona project to continue growing.

"When we reach 42 points, we will talk about whatever you want, because I am here to answer from the heart."

Ahead of Saturday's match against Osasuna, the squad receives a boost with the return of Vitor Reis and Lemar. However, key players such as Stuani, Bryan Gil, and Portu remain unavailable due to injury, though some are expected to return after the international break.
Analyzing the upcoming opponent, Míchel warned about the threat posed by Budimir and Osasuna's aggressive home style. He called for his players to dominate possession and minimize defensive errors to overcome a team with a similar seasonal trajectory.
