The Unió de Pagesos union warned on March 17 that exports of dehydrated fodder from Catalonia are currently blocked due to the ongoing war in the Middle East.

International shipping restrictions in strategic locations like the Strait of Hormuz have halted deliveries to the United Arab Emirates. Many shipments were already at sea when the conflict began, leaving producers uncertain about whether the goods will reach their destination.
Around 7% of the annual export volume remains unshipped. If the crisis continues, this surplus might be forced into the local market, leading to a significant price drop that could threaten the economic viability of many processing plants.

"If the conflict is prolonged and trade routes remain closed, the export sector could be severely affected."
