The Oncolliga Girona Foundation raised 4,400 euros for prostate cancer research in Girona this February, following a successful campaign involving 35 different municipalities.

The Fundació Oncolliga Girona has successfully closed the Posa't el bigoti campaign, an initiative that has raised funds to finance a research project on prostate cancer. The project is led by Dr. Josep Comet and aims to advance the treatment of this disease. The campaign, inspired by the international Movember movement, also served to raise awareness about men's health.
In total, more than 2,000 solidarity pins were sold through 79 collaborating establishments. Citizen mobilization resulted in a total of 7,500 euros: 4,400 euros will go directly to biomedical research, while the remaining 3,100 euros will fund support services for patients and their families in the Girona region.

A total of 7,500 euros was raised, with 4,400 allocated to biomedical research and 3,100 to support services.

During November, various awareness actions took place, such as the installation of a giant macramé mustache in Girona and an educational exhibition at the City Hall. Entities like Bàsquet Girona, the Montiliving podcast, and the Pavelló d'Olot, along with actor Quim Masferrer, were key figures in the campaign's success.
