The Girona Court sentenced a Mossos d'Esquadra sub-inspector this Wednesday to 21 months in prison for the fraudulent use of police fuel cards for personal benefit.

The officer, based in Blanes, admitted to 26 instances of fraud between January and November 2023, totaling 1,936.37 euros. He returned the money prior to the trial to secure a reduced sentence.

"He surreptitiously took the vehicle keys, seized the assigned credit card, and went with his private car to a gas station."
