The initiative, designed to be executed over a four-year period, focuses on the removal of burnt trees and the recovery of key elements of the rural landscape, such as water ponds and farmland. The goal is to rehabilitate the natural environment and, whenever technically feasible, use the resulting wood for biomass generation.
Representatives of the Les Gavarres Forest Managers Association have held a meeting with the General Directorate of Forests to address this issue. They have indicated that there is a positive willingness from the administration to study the recovery plan.
In addition to the actions in the area affected by the fire, forest managers have highlighted the need to invest in the preventive management of the rest of the massif that has not suffered the fire, in order to ensure its long-term conservation.
