The PSC in Girona has accused Mayor Lluc Salellas (CUP) of exploiting the Rodalies (commuter rail) crisis to divert attention from the "inability to govern" and the lack of strategic direction in the city.

The PSC strongly criticized Girona Mayor Lluc Salellas for “opportunistically” joining the debate generated by the Rodalies incidents. The socialists regret that Salellas participated on Tuesday in a press conference at the Catalan Parliament demanding the resignation of the Minister of Territory, Sílvia Paneque, an action they consider supports a “manifest falsehood.”

"Girona needs serious politics, not noise or spectacles. The Rodalies crisis is serious, but it cannot be instrumentalized to generate headlines or to hide the municipal government's lack of direction."

Bea Esporrín · Spokesperson for the PSC municipal group in Girona
The municipal group spokesperson, Bea Esporrín, stressed that the city government “lacks a clear model, is internally divided, and is incapable of providing answers to Girona's main challenges.” She added that the city is “worse off than two years ago,” citing issues with cleanliness and services that the government lacks strategic vision to solve.

"The mayor was unable to announce any concrete new measure regarding garbage, the future of Parc Jordi Vilamitjana, or the relationship with the University of Girona. Only announcements. Today, however, we find him leading a press conference in Parliament."

Maxi Fuentes · Deputy Spokesperson for the PSC municipal group in Girona
The deputy spokesperson, Maxi Fuentes, emphasized that the railway problem is “structural” and requires solutions, not confrontation. The PSC defended Minister Paneque's work, highlighting her commitment to the Girona regions and her willingness to unblock key projects for the territory.
