Meteorologist Mònica Usart predicts widespread showers across Catalonia this Friday, February 13, followed by a weekend dominated by intense northern winds and mountain snow.

After yesterday's historic wind gusts, the day begins with a brief calm before new rain fronts move in. Showers started in the south and west and are expected to spread across most areas by midday, with Girona being the least affected province.
Temperatures will drop significantly, with highs between 12 and 16 degrees Celsius. The snow level will start at 1,000 meters in the morning, rising to 1,400 meters in the afternoon before dropping again in the evening in the Pyrenees.
Looking ahead to the Carnival weekend, wind remains the primary concern. On Saturday, gusts could exceed 90 km/h in Empordà, Tarragona, and the mountains. The combination of wind and snow will create dangerous blizzard conditions in high altitudes.
