The town of Salt is celebrating its Festival with an intense program of events including concerts, parades, 'sardanes' (traditional Catalan dances), and balls, keeping popular culture alive throughout the five days of festivities. Saturday, the main day of the celebration in honor of Sant Jaume, began with the early morning 'matinades' (wake-up calls) by the Marrecs, who paraded through the town's streets to announce the start of the festive day. The program continued with the children's show Kindersu, designed for families.
At midday, the solemn Festival Mass in honor of Sant Cugat was held in the church bearing his name, accompanied by a concert from the Coral Tribana, directed by Quim Bonal.
The afternoon was marked by the forecast of rain, which necessitated the reorganization of some outdoor events. The awaited giant's gathering and parade was moved to Miquel Martí i Pol street to ensure the safety of the giants and the public in case of precipitation. Despite the rain, the celebration continued, with umbrellas becoming a common sight.
As the evening progressed, festive activities resumed normally, especially musical and performing arts for adults. The night promised to maintain the festive spirit with performances at the Era del Cigarro and a subsequent 'correfoc' (fire run).
