The total amount of €2,894,409.68 is distributed among six localities to finance essential hydraulic safety projects. These works include bank stabilization, hydraulic improvements, and interventions in sensitive points of riverbeds within urban areas, according to data provided by the ACA.
The municipality of Riells i Viabrea, located in the Selva comarca, is the main recipient of the aid in the Girona demarcation, receiving €949,269.16. The funded project aims to stabilize and protect the banks of a section of the Berenguer stream as it passes through the Junior Park and Can Plana housing developments. This subsidy is the sixth highest among the 34 actions funded by the Generalitat across Catalonia.
By comarca, Gironès leads the ranking, accumulating €1,009,160.39, thanks to the combined projects in Celrà (€530,840.64) for the channeling of the Isidre Rossell i Gimbernat torrent, and Cassà de la Selva (€478,319.75) to enhance the hydraulic capacity of the Cagalar stream.
Other beneficiary municipalities include Sant Joan de les Abadesses (Ripollès), with €499,926.47 for improvements to the Ter river; Porqueres (Pla de l’Estany), receiving €409,615.08 for the Pas torrent; and finally, Ger (Cerdanya), which receives €26,438.58 for infrastructure replacement on the Duran river and the Rapes torrent.
The call for proposals, which received 53 applications, allowed the ACA to expand the initial budget by an additional 1.6 million euros, reaching the 16.5 million euros planned for the 2026–2028 period. Girona represents approximately 17.5% of the total subsidized amounts.
