The GEiEG sports club has cancelled the 62nd edition of the Pujada a peu als Àngels this Sunday, March 15th, in Girona, citing dangerous weather conditions.

The decision was made early in the morning following guidelines from Civil Protection and the Mossos d'Esquadra police. High wind gusts made it impossible to guarantee the safety of runners, particularly in the forested sections leading to the Santuari dels Àngels.
Organizers prioritized the safety of athletes, volunteers, and spectators during the weather alert. This event, recognized as the oldest mountain race in Spain, covers a 9.1-kilometer route from the city to the mountain sanctuary.
The GEiEG thanked participants for their understanding and security forces for their support. The club will evaluate the calendar to announce a potential new date for the 62nd edition of the race in the near future.
