The Spar Girona women's basketball team has announced the hiring of Turkish coach Ege Talay as the new assistant coach, filling the vacancy left by Laia Palau in late December.

The Girona club confirmed that Ege Talay will replace the legendary Laia Palau, who left the coaching staff in late December due to physical issues. Talay joins the staff led by Roberto Íñiguez, with whom he has previous professional experience.
The professional connection between Talay and Íñiguez dates back to their time at the Turkish club CBK Mersin. Before moving to Spar Girona, Ege Talay was working at Galatasaray, bringing solid experience in European basketball.

"After a few days searching for the best options to replace Laia Palau within the staff, we have decided that Ege will help us until the end of the season. He is knowledgeable about European basketball. He has already worked with Roberto and will surely help and complement our staff"
