The Civil Guard is investigating two Girona residents, aged 25 and 27, after seizing 2,335 kilograms of copper wire during a routine check on the AP-2 highway near Fraga.

The incident took place on February 9 when traffic officers noticed irregularities in a van's bodywork. Upon inspection, they discovered a massive amount of processed copper wire worth approximately 40,000 euros.
The suspects were unable to provide proof of the material's origin. The ROCA Team of the Civil Guard is now leading the investigation to determine the source of the metal, and the case has been referred to the Fraga Court.
