Buy Catalunya, organized by the Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT), is taking place today at the Palau de Bellavista hotel in Girona. The event brings together 88 international tourism operators specializing in cultural tourism, from strategic markets, with the aim of connecting them with a hundred Catalan tourism sector companies. The day is part of the Year of Cultural Tourism.
During the meeting, approximately 1,600 individualized business meetings will be held, allowing Catalan professionals to present their products and experiences directly to tourism operators and explore new marketing opportunities. The operators come from markets such as North America, the Benelux, Spain, Portugal, Central Europe, France, Italy, the Nordic countries, South America, Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and China.
This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between Catalan offer professionals and international marketing channels, and to position culture as one of Catalonia's main attractions. The event is complemented by several familiarization trips, known as the Grand Tour of Catalonia, so that operators can gain firsthand knowledge of the territory's cultural tourism offerings.
The familiarization trips include tours through the Lleida Pyrenees region (with visits to La Seu Vella in Lleida, Montsonís Castle, Montsec Astronomical Park, the Cathedral Museum of La Seu d’Urgell, Colonia Vidal), the cultural and architectural heritage of Cardona, Montserrat, and El Vendrell, wine tourism experiences, a modernist route through Sitges, and visits to Colonia Güell and the Palau de la Música Catalana.
Other itineraries will explore the Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre (with the archaeological site of Tarraco, the modernist legacy of Reus, Miravet Castle, and Poblet Monastery), the Girona counties (with the Birthplace and Theatre-Museum Dalí in Figueres, Ripoll Monastery, Roses Citadel, Sant Pere de Rodes, Santa Pau and Empúries, and the ceramics of La Bisbal d'Empordà), and Barcelona Landscapes and Costa Barcelona (with Vic, Viladrau, and Canet de Mar).
Buy Catalunya Culture is supported by the foundations of the Provincial Council of Girona, the Provincial Council of Barcelona, the Provincial Council of Tarragona, and the Provincial Council of Lleida.
