Girona - Costa Brava Airport, located in Vilobí d’Onyar, will welcome the airline easyJet starting in Spring 2027. EasyJet will operate from this terminal for the first time with two new connections: one to Liverpool and another to London-Gatwick. In total, the company will offer 17,000 seats for these routes, which are now available for purchase.
The connection to Liverpool will commence on March 28, coinciding with the start of the summer season, and will feature two weekly frequencies (Wednesdays and Sundays) until the end of October, totaling 9,000 seats. The route to London-Gatwick will begin on June 3. It will initially have two weekly frequencies (Thursdays and Sundays) during June, September, and October. In July and August, a third frequency will be added on Tuesdays, making 8,000 seats available.
These new routes are the result of the work of the Strategic Airport Table, comprising the Provincial Council of Girona, the Generalitat de Catalunya (through Aeroports de Catalunya and the Catalan Tourism Agency), and the Chamber of Commerce of Girona. Under the GROwing brand, this table works to promote the Girona terminal and attract new companies and connections.
The president of the Provincial Council of Girona, Miquel Noguer, highlighted the objective of diversifying and expanding airline companies and de-seasonalizing activity, aiming for year-round flights. The Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructure of the Generalitat, Manel Nadal, emphasized that the joint strategy is yielding results and mentioned the dual focus on the airport area and corporate aviation, considering the Ryder Cup in 2031 in Girona. The vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce of Girona, Enric Dotras, added that the routes expand the international reach of the business fabric and make the province more accessible for British professionals and companies.
EasyJet has already put the flights on sale through its website, with fares starting from 95 euros to Liverpool and 117 euros to London-Gatwick (round trip). All flights will be operated with Airbus aircraft from the A320 family.
Javier Gándara, easyJet's General Manager for Southern Europe, expressed enthusiasm for welcoming Girona, reflecting the ambition to grow in Spain and Catalonia. He highlighted the commitment to offering better connectivity and more options to customers, expanding the summer season offerings.
