The Fundació Cultural El Foment communicated the decision to cease the activity of this gastronomic space, arguing that the difficulty in finding qualified personnel prevented them from maintaining the quality standards they had always offered. This situation, according to the entity, made the project's continuation unfeasible under current conditions.

The statement, signed by the president of the Fundació Cultural El Foment, thanked customers for their trust during the almost four years of the establishment's activity and the dedication of the entire team. Despite the closure of the Fonda, the Taverna d'El Foment will remain operational, albeit with a simpler gastronomic proposal to optimize its management.
This decision comes after a period of growth for El Foment, which began its journey in 2019 with the opening of the Escola d'El Foment. Subsequently, in 2021, the Taverna was inaugurated, consolidating itself as a cultural meeting point. The following year, in 2022, the Fonda opened, focusing on quality Catalan gastronomy. The project expanded in 2023 with the Centre d'El Foment and in 2024 with the Sala l'Escola, dedicated to live music, the same year the Fundació Cultural El Foment was established to ensure long-term sustainability.
The entity emphasizes the importance of economic sustainability and increasing its membership base to secure the future of the cultural and gastronomic project.
