The participation, coordinated by the Department of Agriculture of the Generalitat de Catalunya through Prodeca, includes the provincial councils of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and for the first time, Tarragona. The common image under the slogan «Catalunya, where food is culture» facilitates contact between restaurateurs, distributors, and specialized shops with the producing companies.
The deputy for Girona Excel·lent i Mercats, Vanessa Peiró, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Òscar Ordeig, visited the event, considered the most important professional gathering for the hospitality, specialized trade, and gastronomy sectors in Catalonia. They toured the stands of the participating Girona companies and spoke with producers.
The participating Girona companies are: Mooma, Ratafia Russet, Ànec de l'Empordà, Cooperativa Espolla, Anxoves Callol Serrats, Masia Empordà, Can Bech, Pere Guardiola, Embotits Vilanova, Xuixos Can Castelló, Cafès Cornellà, Cuinats Jotri, Peralada Mas Marcè, Poma de Girona, and Mont-Corb.
The fourth vice-president of the Provincial Council of Girona, Jordi Camps, also attended the event and the institutional dinner held in Barcelona.
Throughout the three days of the fair, twenty-four sessions are scheduled at the Rebost de Catalunya, within the Catalunya Space, to explore the Catalan agri-food landscape. The program includes tastings, pairings, and presentations of various products, offering professionals insight into the diversity, origin, and gastronomic applications of Catalan produce.
The Gastronomic Forum Barcelona has moved this year to Hall 1 of the Gran Via venue in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, due to works at Montjuïc. The fair brings together over 450 exhibiting companies and, under the theme «Revisiting Tradition», the congress will address the relationship between culinary heritage, innovation, and the evolution of gastronomic businesses.
