Girona FC has made official the loan of Colombian forward Yáser Asprilla to Galatasaray in Istanbul until June, including an optional purchase clause of 23 million euros.

The move was confirmed after Yáser Asprilla traveled to Istanbul yesterday, ending his spell at Montilivi, where he arrived in the summer of 2024. The loan agreement includes a purchase option valued at approximately 23 million euros.
This figure would allow Girona to recover, with profit, the significant initial investment made for the 22-year-old footballer, who was the most expensive signing in the club's history, costing 17 million euros plus 8 million in variables.
The purchase option is entirely optional and would only be activated if Galatasaray, the Turkish club, decides to exercise it. Asprilla's departure comes after he failed to achieve the expected progress under coach Míchel.
Since arriving from Watford in the English Championship, the Colombian has not found his place either as a winger or attacking midfielder. In his year and a half at Girona, he played 50 matches, scoring 4 goals and providing only 2 assists, figures considered insufficient for his initial valuation.
