The agreement ends a frustrated loan spell that began last September without the Croatian managing to debut for the team.

Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic has left Girona FC to join Dinamo Zagreb on loan, concluding a contractual relationship that started on September 1 but failed to materialize as expected.

Livakovic's departure was finalized yesterday, as the player did not attend training at the Ciutat Esportiva de La Massana before traveling to Zagreb. The goalkeeper, owned by Fenerbahçe, will play for the Croatian club until the end of the season.
The adventure at Girona was complicated from the start since the Croatian was not a guaranteed starter. The key reason for his exit is that, having played Champions League qualifiers with his Turkish club last August, playing even one official match for Girona would have prevented him from signing for a third club, jeopardizing his World Cup chances.

Without regular playing time as a white-and-red, his options to play in the World Cup with Croatia were fading.

This situation forced coach Míchel to publicly explain the player's status during a press conference. Livakovic thus achieves his goal of securing the necessary competition to arrive in optimal condition for next summer's World Cup. His number 1 jersey is now free, as Ter Stegen already wears number 22.
