The Audiència de Girona (Provincial Court of Girona) has begun the trial of a man facing 27 years in prison for sexually assaulting his minor daughter and stepdaughter between 2009 and 2020.

The trial focuses on events that allegedly occurred over more than a decade in various apartments in the city of Girona where the family resided. The victims, who were minors at the time of the abuse, reported sexual touching and penetration.

The complainants explained that the defendant took advantage of being alone at home with them to sexually assault them. They also stated that he threatened and intimidated them so they would not tell anyone.

The accused has denied the allegations, attributing the complaints to resentment following the end of his relationship with the mother. In addition to the requested prison sentence, the prosecution is seeking 20 years of supervised release and compensation totaling 95,000 euros for the two victims.
