Girona FC coach Míchel Sánchez spoke after the defeat against Real Oviedo, expressing regret over his team's lack of offensive effectiveness despite maintaining control of the ball for large portions of the crucial match.

The coach emphasized that, particularly during the first half, the team displayed clear superiority in possession and play, but failed to translate this into clear chances or shots on goal. He admitted that in these types of games, Girona must be capable of generating more danger to secure the victory.

"The feeling is that we controlled the match. They had one chance and scored. We generated few, but the feeling is that we did little to win the match when you are controlling it."

Regarding the result, Míchel acknowledged that it was a missed opportunity, although not a definitive one for the season. Concerning the transfer market, he confirmed that the squad has improved thanks to the additions made up to date.
The manager sought to provide a “dose of reality” to the fans, reminding them that the club's main objective remains reaching 42 points to guarantee permanence in the Primera División. He stressed that winning matches in the top flight is challenging.
Finally, he praised veteran Oviedo player Santi Cazorla, stating that “talent is not lost” and comparing his role to that of Stuani at Girona, as players who significantly influence the team's professionalism and performance level.
