Professional actor and monologist Nando Massaneda celebrates two decades as the speaker of the Gran Quina de Bescanó, successfully turning the traditional bingo-like game into a massive spectacle that fills the venue with 2,000 attendees.

Over his 20-year career, Massaneda has established the Quina de Bescanó as the "biggest and most fun in Catalonia," introducing show elements, music, and improvisation, including performing marriage proposals on stage.

"It takes guts to be a quina speaker when you don't even like playing the game."

Massaneda admitted that early on, he warned the organizers that they needed to add "music and show" to prevent the quina from being boring. His role, which relies heavily on his improvisation skills, is to orchestrate the entire show alongside co-speaker Josep Luque.
The event's success is immense; the Gran Quina de Bescanó has had to close its doors with 500 people waiting outside, attracting visitors from places like Barcelona and tourists spending their Christmas holidays nearby. In addition to the spectacle, the prizes are substantial, sometimes including up to 10 shoulders of ham and 50 bottles of cava per quina.
