The conference, held at the Auditori Josep Irla in Girona from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, seeks to consolidate collaboration among regional professionals for more coordinated and efficient care.
The main objective is to update and harmonize referral criteria and clinical practice protocols, adapting care pathways to current scientific evidence and regional needs to ensure a more agile response for patients.
Key topics will include kidney stones, renal colic, recurrent cystitis, vasectomy, andrology, hypogonadism, infertility, and erectile dysfunction, with a focus on agreeing on diagnostic, therapeutic, and referral criteria.
The meeting will involve professionals from primary care teams and the Urology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Internal Medicine services, fostering multidisciplinary dialogue.
The event will be inaugurated by Jaume Heredia, manager of the Girona Health Region, and Esteve Avellana, director of Territorial Care Continuity ICS Girona-IAS. The closing will be led by Josep Comet, head of the Urology Service at Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta and Hospital Santa Caterina.
According to the organizing committee, this transversal approach is crucial for better defining the scope of each care level, optimizing resources, and advancing urological care throughout the Girona Health Region.
