Red Cross Youth distributed 5,553 new and educational toys to 1,850 vulnerable children and youth in the Girona region, promoting their fundamental right to play.

Red Cross Youth has concluded the campaign "Their rights at stake" with the delivery of 5,553 toys to 1,850 children and youth across the Girona region. This initiative aims to guarantee the fundamental right to play for minors facing social vulnerability.

Play is an essential element to guarantee the comprehensive development of children and youth, becoming a fundamental axis of socialization.

The distributed toys adhere to strict criteria: they must be new (to ensure all children have the right to unwrap a new toy), non-warlike, educational, non-sexist, sustainable, and preferably promote cooperative play. This action is part of the annual project "The Educational Toy".
To raise awareness about the educational value of play, the organization carried out 20 activities throughout the Girona demarcation. The campaign relied on citizen collaboration, business support, and the help of around fifty volunteers, reaching over 190 municipalities in Girona.
