Thousands of people participated on Sunday, February 8, in the 12th edition of the Run4Cancer, a decentralized solidarity run organized by the Fundació Oncolliga Girona across thirteen points in the province to raise funds against cancer.

The 12th edition of the Run4Cancer Popular Race, organized by the Fundació Oncolliga Girona, was held on Sunday, February 8, coinciding with the first Sunday after World Cancer Day (February 4). The event stood out for its decentralized format, with simultaneous starts in 13 towns across the province, including Salt, Olot, Palafrugell, Porqueres, and Riudellots de la Selva.

"It is a solidarity march that mainly brings together families, but also people who really enjoy running."

Participants could choose between 5 km and 10 km circular routes, suitable for all ages. The municipality of Olot was the location with the highest turnout, registering 881 participants. It was followed by Riudellots de la Selva, with 745 registered, and Porqueres, which managed to mobilize 515 runners.
The race, which started between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and finished around 1 p.m., is 100% solidarity-focused and non-competitive. The 12€ registration fee will be allocated to the Fundació Oncolliga to offer extensive services to patients and their families, such as psychological assistance, oncological aesthetics, and dietary guidance. The organization concluded the day with great satisfaction.
