Sevilla FC has requested LaLiga to postpone the match against Girona FC, scheduled for this Saturday in Andalusia, due to the orange alert caused by Storm Marta.

Storm Marta arrived this Saturday in Andalusia with strong and persistent rainfall, leading the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) to activate the orange alert in several provinces, including Seville, Almería, Cádiz, Granada, and Huelva.

"prefer not to play"

Sevilla FC · Nervión Club
The Nervión club argues that its position is based on the safety of fans who must travel distances of 30 to 50 kilometers in «these adverse conditions» to reach the capital.
Although Sevilla FC has already conveyed its position to the authorities and LaLiga, the final decision rests exclusively with the sports body, which is awaiting the criteria of the Government Subdelegation. If the latter gives a red light, the match will not be played.
It should be recalled that the Government Subdelegation of Madrid already suspended a match due to a red alert two seasons ago, specifically on September 3, 2023, corresponding to matchday 4, between Atlético de Madrid and Sevilla FC.
