The main square and central streets of Olost will be dressed in period attire for the 18th Rocaguinarda Fair on Sunday, November 8th. The event transports attendees to the 17th century with actors of all ages embodying historical and fictional characters, recreating the atmosphere of the famous Lluçanès bandit, Perot Rocaguinarda. The central theme of the day will revolve around the dilemma "Silver or dagger?".
The fair will officially commence at 10:45 AM with the characters' procession, accompanied by traditional music. From 12:00 PM, theatrical scenes will begin, unfolding linearly until 2:00 PM, presented by two jongleurs. A new featured character this year will be the merchant Adjutori, who will pose the fair's central dilemma.
In parallel to the street performances, from 10 AM to 2 PM, guided tours of the Espai Perot Rocaguinarda (C. Escoles, 2) will be offered to share the bandit's story. The program includes scenes such as "The Merchant," "The Loot," "The Leak," "Caluni...sex," "The Robbery," "The Revelation," and "The Pardon," culminating in Perot's transformation into legend.
In the afternoon, the square will host traditional games at 3:45 PM, followed by a performance by La Rondalla with Isaac Morera at 4:45 PM. The fair will conclude at 5:00 PM with "The Origin of the Legend," a performance by the younger bandits, accompanied by the Gegants d'Olost (giants of Olost) and a musical performance by Ferran Orriols.
The fair involves about a hundred residents of Olost in various roles, from acting to props and makeup. Artistic direction is by Xevi Font and technical direction by Albert López. The organization is by the new Associació Cultural d'en Perot Rocaguinarda, with support from the Olost Town Council, the Barcelona Provincial Council-Paisatges Barcelona, and various local entities.
On Saturday, October 7th, pre-fair activities are scheduled: a children's fire workshop at Placeta del Raval (requiring registration, parental authorization, cotton clothing, and personal cup) and an audiovisual screening at Espai Perot Rocaguinarda, including "El gat fer" (The Wild Cat) and "Wet lines".
