Work has commenced to improve and adapt the dog area at La Muntanyeta in Calella, aiming to expand its usability. The project covers approximately 3,000 m² and includes clearing, leveling the ground, and installing six agility elements for dogs.
This new facility, the first of its kind in Calella, will feature a tire jump, a jump bar, weave poles, a ladder, a tunnel, and a pyramid structure. These elements are designed to offer dogs new opportunities for play, exercise, and to test their concentration and reflexes.
Additionally, trees will be planted to create a small rest area, two benches will be installed, and more waste bins will be added to enhance the comfort for users and their pets. The work, which began this Thursday, is expected to see the space operational in the coming days.
The area will adhere to the same usage rules as other dog zones in the city: dogs can be off-leash under supervision, except for potentially dangerous breeds which require a leash and muzzle. It will be mandatory to clean up after pets and maintain the cleanliness of the space. Agility equipment is exclusively for dogs and must always be used under supervision.
Currently, Calella has three designated dog areas (at Les Veles park, Conrad Prat square, and next to the municipal pool) and an area in Dalmau park where dogs can be off-leash. The latter will also be adjusted to start beyond the children's play area of the Bear's Patio.
