The Old Town Hall in Calella will be renovated to house a new, larger, and more accessible Tourist Information Office on the ground floor, and a new Council Chamber on the first floor. The works, awarded for €307,129.52, will begin in the coming weeks and are expected to take approximately three months.
The building's ground floor will be transformed to accommodate the tourism service, relocating from its current premises on Carrer de Sant Jaume. The new office will occupy 76 m², almost double the current size, and will have an independent entrance from Plaça de l'Ajuntament, number 4. A subsequent interior design project will define the office's image, including information screens, a rest area, and a children's space. The premises for the Town Hall's Tourism department will also be established here.
The first floor will host the new municipal Council Chamber, approximately 145 m², to adapt to the growing number of councillors. With the projected increase from 17 to 21 councillors after the municipal elections in 2027, this new space will be suitable for the council's new composition. This floor will also include a new Councillors' Room connected to the Council Chamber and offices for the New Technologies department.
The Citizen Attention Office and the janitorial services will remain in their current location on the ground floor.
