The document identifies and assesses the risks that may affect Canet de Mar and establishes how municipal services should be organized and act to respond. The plan's purpose is to prevent and control risks affecting people, property, and the environment, incorporating updated data on the municipality and its organization, as well as operational procedures for different emergency scenarios.
The development of the DUPROCIM stems from work initiated in 2025 with the contracting of a specialized company. The new document adapts the planning to current civil protection requirements and changes in municipal organization, and has the favorable technical report from the chief inspector of the Local Police.
The agreement establishes a public information period of 30 business days, announced in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona, on the City Council's notice board, and on the municipal electronic headquarters. During this period, interested parties can consult the public version of the document and submit objections.
If no objections are filed, the document will be definitively approved. If objections are filed, the Plenary must resolve them before final approval. Once this process is complete, the DUPROCIM will be sent to the Generalitat for homologation by the Civil Protection Commission of Catalonia.
Once the processing and homologation are finalized, training is planned for all municipal departments and technical staff to ensure that, in the event of the plan being activated, everyone knows their roles and carries out assigned tasks in a coordinated manner.
